This spring, Zenzero welcomed young innovators from Guernsey and Jersey in school years 3 to 6 to take part in its annual Design Challenge. Once again, the competition sparked an incredible display of creativity and imagination.
This year’s theme invited children to design a wearable gadget, resulting in hundreds of inventive and forward-thinking ideas. With more than 500 entries submitted, 2025 marked a record-breaking year for the challenge. Selecting just five winners proved no easy task for the judging panel, given the outstanding quality of submissions.
Charity partnerships
Each year, Zenzero partners with local charities to give the competition an added community focus.
In Guernsey, we were proud to work alongside the Youth Commission for Guernsey & Alderney. This year’s collaboration supported their ‘Bus Stop’ initiative – a mobile youth centre designed to bring services and support directly to young people across the island. During the prize-giving event, CEO Louise Leale shared insights into the organisation’s impactful work. Zenzero was also pleased to donate a Meta Quest VR headset, which will be available for young people to use onboard the Bus Stop.
In Jersey, we partnered with the JBFC Foundation, whose community-led efforts align closely with the spirit of the competition. At the prize-giving ceremony, Jonathon Buesnel spoke about the Foundation’s mission and the positive difference it continues to make across the island.
Our sponsors
This year’s winners received a range of fantastic prizes, made possible through the generous support of our sponsors. PlainSail returned as headline sponsor, with additional contributions from Fort, Clicksmith, Spring Insure, LTS Tax, NSM, Aladdin’s Cave, and Blue Islands across both islands.
