Microsoft Defender

The strategic technology partner for scalable organisational growth.
Why partner with us

Bring endpoint, identity, email, and cloud security together in a single Microsoft security platform.

Microsoft Defender is a broad security suite from Microsoft designed to help organisations prevent, detect, investigate, and respond to threats across endpoints, identities, email, collaboration tools, cloud apps, and cloud workloads.

We help organisations turn Microsoft Defender into a practical, managed security capability, ensuring protection is configured correctly, monitored effectively, and aligned to their wider Microsoft security strategy.
Importance

Why Microsoft Defender matters

Cyber attacks rarely stay in one place. A phishing email can lead to credential theft, identity theft monitoring concerns, compromised devices, risky cloud app activity and unauthorised access to business data. Microsoft Defender is designed to help organisations connect those signals, understand the full scope of an incident and respond faster.

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is a cloud powered security solution that supports prevention, detection, investigation and response across devices. Within that wider model, Microsoft Defender Antivirus and Windows Defender provide real time protection against malware, viruses and malicious software, while continuous scanning, updated virus definitions and existing malware protection help identify new and existing threats. Microsoft Defender uses machine learning to predict malicious files and artificial intelligence to support threat detection at speed.

Optimisation

How Zenzero helps you get more from Microsoft Defender

Defender is most effective when the right services are enabled, configured, governed and monitored properly. Zenzero helps you understand which Microsoft Defender features are available in your environment, how they align to your Microsoft 365 subscriptions, where key differences exist between personal, small businesses and enterprise use cases, and where additional configuration or licensing may be needed to close security gaps.

Our approach focuses on practical security outcomes: better visibility, stronger policies, clearer alert handling, improved device protection, identity-aware defence and joined-up threat response. We help organisations move from having Defender available to making Defender work properly across the business, whether they need to replace existing malware protection, secure higher Mac and Windows estates, or strengthen online security across users and devices.

AI built for your organisation

A more connected approach to security

Cyber threats rarely affect just one part of a business. A compromised account can lead to device compromise, email threats, risky application activity, and unauthorised access to sensitive data. Microsoft Defender helps organisations connect those signals, providing stronger protection across devices, identities, email, collaboration tools, cloud apps, and cloud workloads.

By bringing Microsoft security services together into a single platform, organisations can improve visibility through centralised dashboards, real-time alerts, and recommended actions. The result is a more joined-up security strategy, reduced complexity, stronger controls, and better use of the Microsoft security capabilities already available within the business.

Still have Qs?

Questions we
often get asked:

Is Microsoft Defender only antivirus?

No. Antivirus is one part of the Defender story, but Microsoft Defender is much broader. The suite can include endpoint protection, email security, identity threat detection, cloud app security, vulnerability management and extended detection and response through Microsoft Defender XDR. Windows Security, formerly known as Windows Defender Security Centre, is the built in Windows app used to review protection areas such as Microsoft Defender Antivirus, firewall, browser controls and account protection.

Can Microsoft Defender be used across iOS and Windows devices?

Yes. Microsoft Defender can support iOS and Windows devices, as well as Android and Mac, depending on the subscription and configuration in place. Users can download the app, sign in with the relevant Microsoft account and use Microsoft Defender to monitor security status, receive security tips and strengthen protection against online threats.

Do I need to uninstall existing antivirus software?

It depends on your current setup. Microsoft Defender can work alongside some existing malware protection, but business environments should review policies, settings, licensing and management tools before they uninstall or replace anti-malware software. Zenzero can help assess the right approach for your devices and security model.

Can Zenzero review our Microsoft Defender setup?

Yes. Zenzero can review your Microsoft Defender configuration across endpoint, identity, email, cloud apps and Microsoft 365, identify gaps, recommend improvements and help implement a stronger, more consistent security baseline.
