CHALLENGE

Managing and analysing high-volume match data

PGMOL needed a robust and secure way to process and synchronise data from multiple suppliers, including ChyronHego TRACAB and Opta. The system had to handle player, ball, and official position data captured 25 times per second, generate bespoke officiating statistics, and synchronise these with match footage – all while being reliable and fast enough for match-day operations.

Zenzero developed a REST Web Service hosted on the Amazon Cloud, capable of securely processing large volumes of real-time match data.

Key features included:

  • Data Integration – feeds from multiple suppliers combined into a single, reliable platform.

  • KPI Enhancement – generation of match official-specific KPIs, including foul and offside analysis.

  • Video Synchronisation – statistics linked seamlessly with match footage for detailed post-match reviews.

  • High-Volume Processing – capable of handling 25 position data points per second for players, officials, and the ball.

  • Secure Cloud Hosting – hosted on AWS with real-time monitoring on match days to ensure accuracy and reliability.
